Local search marketing

Local search is a term that is used to describe the activity of a person who is searching the internet for a product or service provider in their local area. It has become more popular for people to use the internet than to seek out their local phone directory when they are looking for something local and as a local business it is important you get their attention.When searching for a product or service in a specific area such as Vancouver, the first listing to appear in Google is often the Local Business Results. Known simply as Local Search, Google displays a map with up to 7 companies listed to the Local search marketing right lettered A to G located near the area searched.


As the map listings are often at the top of the search results, using Local Search Optimization is a great way to appear of the first page of Google.

Notice is the example above Golden Draperies & Blinds does not have a website listed. Your listing in the Local Business Results is completely separate from your website. While I highly recommend you setup a WordPress website if you don’t yet have one, using Local Search Optimization, you can appear on the first page of Google with or without a website.
